MelloNote is a live-performance app for displaying lyrics with chords, running a metronome, and stepping through setlists. In plain terms: MelloNote works fully offline, stores your content on your device, and only sends data to the cloud if you choose to sign in and sync. We don't show ads, we don't run analytics or tracking, and we never sell your data.
By default, everything you create stays on your device and is not transmitted anywhere: songs, lyrics and inline chords, setlists, song metadata (title, artist, key, BPM, notes), backing-track audio files, PDF lead sheets and notation images, and app settings.
You can delete any of this at any time within the app (deleting a song also removes its backing track, PDF, and notation images, and removes it from your setlists). Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data.
Signing in is optional and is only needed for cloud sync (a paid feature). If you sign in with Google or Apple, we use Firebase Authentication (a Google service) to authenticate you, and we receive and store your email address, display name (if provided), profile photo URL (if provided), and a unique account identifier. This is used solely to identify your account and associate your synced content with it. Apple's "Sign in with Apple" may provide a private relay email if you choose to hide your address; we honor that.
Cloud sync is an optional paid feature. When enabled, your song content and metadata, setlists, and notation images and PDF lead sheets are uploaded to our backend (hosted on Cloudflare, using D1 and R2) and associated with your account so you can access them across devices. Backing-track audio files are never uploaded — they remain local to each device. Requests are authenticated with a Firebase identity token. When you delete a synced song, the app also requests its deletion from the cloud (including its images and PDFs).
MelloNote offers a one-time in-app purchase ("MelloNote Pro"). Purchases are processed entirely by Apple's App Store or Google Play. We do not receive or store your payment-card details or billing information. We only receive confirmation from the store of whether the purchase is active, which the app stores on your device to unlock the feature.
MelloNote can keep multiple devices on the same song and playback position during a performance over your local network (using Bonjour/mDNS and a direct device-to-device connection, with time alignment via NTP). The current song and position are shared directly between devices on your network — this data does not pass through our servers. Use it on networks you trust.
We do not use advertising networks, and we do not integrate analytics or third-party tracking SDKs.
MelloNote is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Connections to our backend use HTTPS, and access to your synced content requires a valid authentication token tied to your account. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your data.
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above and posting the revised policy at this URL.
